What Is A Juice Cleanse?

A juice cleanse, also known as a juice fast or juice feast, is when you eliminate solid food from your diet and just drink raw unpasteurized fruit and vegetable juices for a set period of time. A typical cleanse lasts for three days, though the duration is up to you. Longer cleanses should be discussed with your health care professional.

While on a juice cleanse you are encouraged to drink water and caffeine-free teas though no other foods or liquids are allowed.

Our juice cleanses provide you with 6 bottles per day:

5 bottles of raw, unpasteurized fruit and vegetable juices

1 bottle of cashew milk.

Each bottle measures 16.9 fluid ounces.

What Does Unpasteurized Mean?

Pasteurizing juice means you bring the juice to a boil before bottling it. The reason juice makers pasteurize juice is to prolong its shelf life, saving themselves money. The process of boiling the juice kills off bacteria and other organisms allowing them to have the juices sit on the shelves longer, or even unrefrigerated. The major problem with pasteurized juice is while the heat kills the ability of bad stuff to grow, it also kills live enzymes and vitamins found in the juice, so what you’re left with has much less nutritional value.

When doing a juice cleanse, you need all the vitamins and live enzymes in tact so drinking pasteurized juice is not a viable option. Our juices are unpasteurized so that they retain their nutritional value. Of course, because they are completely raw and fresh, they only have a shelf life of three days once you’ve received them.

We don’t believe in robbing the juice of nutrients in the name of shelf life. We’d rather bring you fresh juice packed with good stuff.

How Often Should I Cleanse?

We recommend that healthy adults partake in a juice cleanse at least four times a year, specifically once per season, though it’s safe to do as often as once a month.

Are The Juices Organic?

We work with farms that are pesticide and herbicide free as much as possible but they have not gone through the costly certification process, so we are not able to certify our juices as organic. However, all of our juices are made with 100% fruits and vegetables that are fresh, completely raw, and sourced locally in CA from sustainable farms. The juice is completely unpasteurized and has no other ingredients. The philosophy here is we want to use the best ingredients, in the most eco-friendly way and make it available to as many people as we can.

Can I Do A Juice Cleanse While Pregnant Or Nursing?

Our cleanses are not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers. However, they can drink our juices along with maintaining a normal healthy diet. The juices are nutrient packed and are very beneficial so long as they are not used to replace meals

Will I Gain The Weight Back?

The answer to that is up to YOU. A juice cleanse is only the beginning. In order to maintain the weight loss you need to listen to your body! Jumping into bad eating habits immediately following a successful juice cleanse will only reverse the progress and leave you feeling low, unsatisfied and heavy again.

What About Fiber?

We don’t want it! When it comes to cleansing, the goal is eliminate fiber from your diet. This is a good thing! When eating solid food, fiber is your best friend. It’s what keeps your digestive system moving and keeps your body in good working order. Juice cleansing, however, is a whole different story. On our juice cleanse, our juicer removes the fiber from fruits and vegetables and extracts only the nutrient rich juice. This allows the nutrients and live enzymes to bypass digestion and go directly into your blood stream.

When we eat solid food, it gets broken down into liquids by your digestive system, nutrients are separated from food fibers, and eventually the nutrients are picked up by the blood stream and delivered to the liver. Raw juices largely reduce, if not eliminate fiber, so it relieves the digestive system of much of the energy required to fulfill that process and skips straight to delivering the nutrients throughout your body. Your body uses this break from digestion to instead focus on items it thinks need healing- mainly removing toxins- which is the goal here.

What About Protein?

The most constructive protein is available in fresh, raw vegetable juices. Second is protein from animals and food supplements. That means the protein you get from the juices is from the richest source available to us.

Can I Work Out While On The Cleanse?
Yes, but we recommend moderate exercise. Rather than an hour and a half high intensity work out, you may feel better taking on a 45-minute power walk or hike. Your body has a way of communicating and letting you know what it can handle, so by all means exercise but pay attention and listen when it’s telling you to take it down a notch.

All of our juices are Raw, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Lactose-Free. Our cashew milk does contain raw cashews.

**An important note about allergies. Our kitchen facility does process products that may contain tree nuts, milk and soy. We do thoroughly sanitize the kitchen before use and take allergy concerns incredibly seriously, but it’s still a good idea to talk to your doctor about your specific history and follow his or her recommendation on the appropriate precautions.

Cleanses And Vitamins

We do not recommend you continue taking vitamins while on the cleanse. The simple reason is, you’re ingesting about 20lbs of fruits and vegetables per day, so your body is already getting all of the nutrients it needs. Also, some vitamins can be really hard on the stomach when you’re not taking them with solid foods so it’s not recommended, nor necessary.

Juice Storage

We deliver the juice in soft coolers with ice packs. Upon receipt, it is incredibly important for you to refrigerate the juices as quickly as possible. The ice packs will do a great job of keeping them cold during transport from our kitchen facility to you, but since there are no preservatives, and the juice is unpasteurized and raw, you need to keep it cold at all times, so refrigerate it immediately.

It’s also a good idea to place the re-usable ice packs in the freezer upon receipt. That way if you need to take your juices on the go, you can toss the juices and the ice packs into the eco-cooler we provide and head out the door!

Eco-Coolers, Bottles And Ice Packs

Everything is yours to keep. No pesky returns or deposits here.

We exclusively use BPA free, phthalate free, PETE 1 plastic bottles, which when recycled, will be re-used to make many products including: fabric for t-shirts, shoes, luggage, and upholstery, just to name a few.

We ask that you please do recycle your bottles, and you can also reuse the eco-coolers and ice packs for your own beverage or food transport.

Delivery

We offer free local delivery on all orders or Fed Ex overnight for out of area orders (at cost). Please call or email for an exact quote.

When you place your order, you will receive one email receipt, and a separate (second) email with delivery information, preparation guidelines and additional information. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive this email.

Please note juices are delivered approx. between 8pm-midnight the night before your start date.

Since deliveries are dropped off at night, you will need to provide us with any needed gate code information to access your front door. Packages will be left on your doorstep, no signature required, for you to retrieve that same night or first thing in the morning. In the event we cannot access your doorstep to complete delivery, your order will be returned to our warehouse and we can arrange for a messenger to re-attempt delivery (at your cost) later that morning. Office deliveries require 24-hour access, we will not leave packages outside of office buildings.

Your juice will be packaged with ice packs that will keep it nice and cold for a few hours, but be sure to grab the package and stick the juice in the fridge as soon as possible as they are perishable and must be kept cold.

Cleanse Preparation Guidelines:

Ok, you’ve committed to doing a juice cleanse! You’re excited to get going and heck, you wish you could just jump in today, but preparing properly is incredibly important. We’ve provided a guide detailing which foods to eliminate and when, and which foods to work into your daily diet. In order to yield the best results, stick to this list of dos and don’t as closely as possible.

One week before-

Make a conscious effort to start to cut down on:
Alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, over the counter medicines, sugar, salt, artificial sweeteners, meat, dairy, processed foods, wheat, eggs and nuts.

Make a conscious effort start to increase:
Water, caffeine-free teas, raw fruit and vegetable juices, fruits, vegetables, grains, beans and legumes (ex. string beans, soy beans, snap peas, etc.), salads, brown rice, veggie broths and soups, and fruit smoothies.

3 days before-

Completely eliminate the following:
Alcohol, red meat, poultry, dairy, and eggs.

Increase items listed in the ‘1 day before’ section below.

2 days before-

At this point you should also phase out the following:
Cigarettes, caffeine, sugar, salt, artificial sweeteners, bread, pasta, over the counter medicines, bottled sauces or condiments that contain additives and colorings (ex. ketchup, hot sauces, bottled dressings), and fish.

Increase items listed in the ‘1 day before’ section below.

1 day before-

Diet should consist of only water, caffeine-free teas, raw fruit and vegetable juices, fruits, raw or lightly steamed vegetables, salads, veggie broths and soups (read labels thoroughly and avoid brands that pack their soups with additives), olive oil, herbs and spices. Recommended salad dressings would be fresh lemon juice, or olive oil and vinegar.

Pre- Cleanse Sample Menu:

Breakfast:
Banana smoothie.

Lunch:
Salad with a light vinaigrette dressing. Add avocado for protein.

Snack:
Fruit/vegetable juice.

Dinner:
Veggie broth soup, and a salad with lemon juice dressing. Frozen banana for dessert
